About Janelle
Breakthrough Vocals began in 2011 with a simple belief: music has the power to transform far more than our voices.
What started as a small virtual teaching studio has grown into a holistic coaching space where music, communication, confidence, and personal growth come together. Whether you’re learning to sing, play piano, prepare for a performance, navigate life’s challenges, or simply want to reconnect with yourself, my goal is to meet you where you are.
I believe every person learns differently and needs different lessons to achieve (even similar) goals. That’s why every session is collaborative, student-led, and built around the whole person, not just the skill being taught. My role isn’t to mold you into someone else’s idea of success; it’s to help you discover your own voice, build confidence, and develop the tools to express yourself authentically.
Experience & Credentials
My approach is shaped by more than 30 years of experience in music, theatre, and performance, along with continued study in human behavior, communication, and holistic wellness.
My background includes:
– Bachelor of Science in Psychology
– Certified Empathy Coach
– Training in Medical Qigong, Reiki, breathwork, and meditation
– 15 years in leadership/management coaching roles, supporting corporate team members
– Three decades of performance experience in music and theatre
– Experience supporting children, teens, adults, professionals, and neurodivergent learners in an affirming, compassionate environment
– Ongoing education in vocal technique, human connection, and holistic practices to continually refine the ways I support each student’s unique goals
While every certification and every performance has contributed to the way I teach today, the most important part of my work is creating a space where people feel heard, encouraged, and empowered to grow.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients pursue career changes with confidence, earn roles on stage and screen they never imagined possible, strengthen family relationships, and discover a deeper sense of self through music and compassionate coaching.
